GP Practice Admin Training

Practical, in-person training for GP practice admin teams.

Admin teams are under constant pressure. Patient demand, risk, systems and compliance. These in-person training days are built for the real work of GP practice admin. They build confidence, judgement and capability without overwhelm.

Each day is delivered in person in small groups, with time for discussion, shared problem-solving and working through real scenarios from general practice.

The first Admin Training dates for 2026 will take place in Portlaoise, running from February to April 2026. Additional locations may be added later in 2026.

Delivered by GPPA, grounded in real GP practice experience through onsite reviews, training programmes and ongoing work with practice teams.

GPPA Practice Health Pillars

All GPPA admin training is built around the GPPA Practice Health Pillars - the three areas that keep GP practices safe, sustainable and financially sound.

Who this training is for

This training is designed for GP practices that want safer systems, more confident admin teams and smoother daily flow.

It’s suitable for:

  • Admin staff working in general practice who are making day-to-day decisions

  • Stretched reception teams managing high volumes of patient contact

  • Practices experiencing complaints, risk or daily pressure points

  • Teams managing access, patient communication and PCRS claims

  • Practices focused on income protection and compliance

It’s well suited to admin staff who are newer to the role, as well as experienced admin staff who want clearer systems and safer judgement at the front line.

Choose the training that fits your practice

You can book a single training day to address a specific pressure point, or follow the Admin Training pathway over time.

Each day is standalone and deliberately scoped, allowing practices to choose what’s most relevant to their current needs. Some practices will send one person to a single day, while others may rotate staff across different days to bring learning back into the practice.
