GP Practice Admin Training
Practical, in-person training for GP practice admin teams.
GP admin teams are managing more complexity than ever - patient demand, clinical risk, PCRS compliance and income protection - often without the systems or training to match.
These in-person training days are built for the real work of GP practice admin. Practical, delivered in small groups, with time for discussion, shared problem-solving and real scenarios from general practice. They build confidence, judgement and capability without overwhelm.
Delivered by Rachel Bothwell and Siobhan O'Neill - built from real experience in GP practice management, training and onsite work in practices across Ireland.
Further locations to be announced later in 2026 - register your interest here.
The problems practices bring to us
Do any of these sound familiar?
Phones and inboxes that feel out of control
The same issues coming back to the desk again and again
No consistent way of handling the same task across the team
Staff who back down when patients push back - or come straight to the GP
A sense that income is being missed but no one is sure where
PCRS claims going in - but no system to check what's actually been paid
These are not staffing problems. They are system problems - and they are fixable.
Who this training is for
This GP practice admin training is designed for practices that want safer systems, more confident admin teams and stronger financial controls.
Admin and reception staff making day-to-day decisions at the front desk
Admin staff managing correspondence, claims and patient workflow
Practice Managers reviewing systems, access and operational controls
GPs who want their team to operate with more consistency and less escalation back to them
What practices say
"We don't always think enough about investing in our admin - they are the people who keep the whole practice running. We noticed a positive difference afterwards, both in confidence and in how staff approached their work."
Deborah Lynch, PM, Maryborough Medical Practice
"The financial investment will undoubtedly be recouped."
Susan Braithwaite, PM, Barrowview Medical Practice
"I felt so confident walking out the door at the end of the day having that extra knowledge and ideas to bring back to colleagues."
Kelli Gayer, Admin, Ballineen Enniskeane PHCC

The Training Days
Two standalone days. Each covers a distinct area of GP practice admin. Practices can attend one or both.

Admin Operations: Access, Systems & Boundaries
For practices where the daily running of admin feels reactive, inconsistent or out of control.
Covers access management, daily operational systems, safe booking and escalation, routing and ownership, boundaries and SOPs.
Best for admin staff, reception teams and Practice Managers reviewing daily operations.

State Contracts & PCRS: Accuracy & Compliance
For practices delivering care that isn't always being paid for - because the systems to claim it aren't in place.
Covers state contract schemes, PCRS claims processes, reconciliation and compliance controls.
Best for admin staff responsible for PCRS claims and Practice Managers or GPs reviewing claims systems.
