Tammy Darcy

Tammy Darcy is a social entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of The Shona Project, a multi award-winning Irish social enterprise that educates, empowers and inspires girls to become strong, confident and curious young women. Founded in honour of her sister Shona, Tammy and the organisation have become recognised advocates for young people’s wellbeing. Through school workshops, campaigns, festivals and leadership programmes, The Shona Project currently reaches over 100,000 girls per year. Tammy was also the  founding CEO of Social Enterprise Republic of Ireland (SERI).  

Her work has earned national and international recognition, including the Irish Tatler Women of the Year Award for Social Enterprise (2024), the European Citizens’ Prize (2023), Irish Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year (2021), and selection as an Obama Foundation Leader (2024–25). She is also the author of You’ve Got This, a guide for teenage girls.
