Prof. Richard Greene

Professor Richard Greene is Professor of Clinical Obstetrics at UCC, Director of the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre, and a senior leader in maternity services at Cork University Maternity Hospital.
He is also the HSE’s Chief Clinical Information Officer, working across the Chief Technology & Transformation and Chief Clinical Officer functions to drive Ireland’s digital health future.
He has been centrally involved in shaping the Digital for Care: A Digital Health Framework for Ireland 2024–2030 and its Strategic Implementation Roadmap, and is directly leading projects including the National Shared Care Record, Virtual Wards & Virtual Care models, and the National EHR programme. He is motivated by a core belief that digital data & information flow between patients and healthcare staff is the key enabler for healthcare transformation.
